Frequently Asked Questions.

What happens if the weather is too cold for a walk?

If temperatures dip below safe levels, and you are away we are happy to visit your dog in your home, in lieu of a walk! Alternate rates will apply.

Information about Kennel Cough.

Many people believe that if their dog has had their Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine that their dog is completely immune to it. Unfortunately the vaccine is similar to the flu shot, it may not cover that strain of the virus. It is common for dogs to contract kennel cough in group settings, and often, like us humans, this happens more in the spring and fall when temperatures are fluctuating. Kennel cough sounds like a honk or like your dog is trying to clear a piece of grass from their throat. If you notice this behavior from your dog please let us know, and give your vet a shout!  Many times dogs will just need some rest to recover, however in severe cases (seniors, immune compromised dogs..etc) antibiotics may be required. It is ALWAYS best to consult your vet with any health concerns.

What safety measures do you take while transporting dogs?

All dogs are required to wear a harness for travelling (provided by the owner) and they are clipped in and secured in the vehicle for their safety.

We created the Sponsor an Adventure program which allows clients the option to purchase an adventure for a rescue dog at a discounted rate. Being a part of these adventures helps to provide them with socialization, exercise and mental stimulation, as well as some publicity on our social media! All of these factors can help a dog get adopted, or at very least, enrich their lives while they are waiting for their fur-ever home!
